Round 1

  • Motion: Learning in groups is better than learning on your own.

• Age 13–18

  • Theme: Education

  • Motion: THW (This House Would) cut government subsidy of schools that
    have high rates of bullying incidents.

Round 2

• Age 10–12

  • Theme: Social Media

  • Motion: It is better for kids to learn about the world from social media rather than from books.

• Age 13–18

  • Theme: Media / Sports

  • Motion: THW disallow exclusive broadcasting rights for major sporting events.

Round 3

  • Theme: Parenting

  • Motion: Parents should give children more freedom as they grow older instead of more rules.

  • Theme: Social Norms

  • Motion: This house regrets the glorification of individuality.

  • Motion: Schools should focus more on teaching creativity (like art and projects)
    instead of basic skills (like math and reading).

  • Motion: THW allow prisoners to serve in the military in exchange for a reduced sentence.
